Palliative Medicine Specialist (Part Time 0.8 FTE) (8/8/2017)

Waitemata District Health Board has a vacancy for a permanent part time Palliative Medicine Physician/Specialist, in the Hospital Palliative Care Team based primarily at North Shore Hospital. In the future there may be opportunities to work collaboratively with the hospices as well.

Palliative Care Doctors welcome Health Select Committee report on 'Assisted Dying'. The Australian and New Zealand Society of Palliative Medicine (ANZSPM) Aotearoa Branch has welcomed the report from the NZ Health Select Committee investigating the attitudes of New Zealanders to 'assisted dying' as well-written and balanced. ANZSPM is encouraged that inequities in Specialist Palliative Care service provision, resource and funding have been highlighted and looks forward to the Governments response.

Clinical Director Palliative Care Services - Waitemata Auckland (1/8/2017)

The main sites of Waitemata DHB include North Shore Hospital on the shores of Takapuna's Lake Pupuke and Waitakere Hospital within sight of West Auckland's green belt.  We are seeking expressions of interest from Specialist Leaders who may be interested in the Clinical Directorship of the hospitals palliative care team as well as to develop a future clinical partnership model with our district hospices.

Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) - UTS (30/7/2017)

Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative (PaCCSC) is partnering with Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation (CHERE) to establish a program of health economic research focused on palliative and end-of-life care. The Health Economist Research Fellow will have a joint appointment with the Centre for Health Economics Research and Evaluation. Working collaboratively across both teams, the PaCCSC Health Economics Research Fellow will undertake independent research on health economic measures in palliative care, commissioned work and perform critical appraisal of palliative care interventions.
