ANZSPM welcomes new President - 12 September 2019
ANZSPM has welcomed new President A/Prof Leeroy William at the annual general meeting this morning in Perth.
A/Prof William is currently Clinical Director of Supportive and Palliative Care at Eastern Health and has served on the ANZSPM Council since 2016, the last year as President-Elect.
A/Prof William takes over from Prof Meera Agar who completed her two-year term as President at the meeting. Prof Agar continues on Council as Immediate Past-President.
A/Prof William said, "Meera has provided a lesson in the art of leadership that I hope to emulate. ANZSPM has benefited from her leadership and I'm grateful she will remain on Council! I thank her for her tireless efforts for our specialty and for supporting me into the new role. I look forward to serving ANZSPM over the next two years."
At the meeting, Dr Christine Mott was also elected to Council. Dr Mott previously served as a co-opted Councillor over the past 12 months. Dr Mott brings experience as a dual trained General Paediatrician and Paediatric Palliative Medicine Physician.
