Advance Training Registrar Palliative Medicine Community Post

Do you fancy a sea-change to train in Palliative Medicine in well supervised, brand new purpose-built facilities, with two medical schools wanting to connect with you and award academic titles?:

Then come to the Gold Coast in sunny Queensland.

An accredited Community Term in Palliative Medicine for an Advance Training Registrar for their “core” or “elective” term is available for 6 months from 4th July 2011. This new and exciting post has just become established on the Gold Coast, a major growth area of SE Queensland. This post is well supported by two Palliative Medicine Physicians with a strong interest in teaching and Evidence Based Palliative Medicine as well as a strong multidisciplinary team.

Gold Coast Health Service District (GCHSD) now has two Universities with Medical Schools (Griffith & Bond) and has just completed a major rebuild and expansion of one of its Hospitals at Robina that boasts a brand new purpose-built, 20 bed Palliative Care Unit within a recently expanded and rebuilt 364 bed teaching hospital. GCHSD is also in the final 12 month phase of building a large, brand new major Tertiary Teaching University hospital due to open in late 2012, with 750 beds, and a new 6-8 bed Palliative Care Unit within the Radiotherapy/Oncology ward. There are many excellent opportunities for training in Palliative Medicine, all terms, including a well supported recurrent accredited Oncology term, are available for further training needs.

At the start of 2012 there will be two Advance Training Posts in Palliative Medicine and ongoing training will be possible on the Gold Coast covering any core or elective term.
