Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking a Staff Specialist in Palliative Medicine to join our dedicated and multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced specialist or a newly fellowed Palliative Medicine specialist looking to establish their career in a supportive, collegiate and rewarding environment. Working across both inpatient and community settings, you will provide expert clinical care and leadership to patients requiring palliative care services. As a Staff Specialist, you will have opportunities to engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical supervision, research, quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
About You
We welcome applications from both experienced specialists and newly fellowed physicians who are passionate about delivering high-quality palliative care and contributing to the growth of rural health services.
Applicants must possess:
- A primary medical degree registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine), or equivalent qualifications recognised under the Staff Specialists (State) Award
- Recent clinical experience in Palliative Medicine appropriate to the role and service requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and provide clinical leadership
- Excellent communication skills, including the effective use of information technology and strong written, verbal and interpersonal capabilities
- A commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and respond on site within a reasonable timeframe
