ANZSPM Guidance documents released on Palliative Care in the COVID-19 context
ANZSPM has produced a series of guidance documents to support healthcare professionals in their understanding of COVID-19 context palliative care.
The documents were prepared through the contributions of the ANZSPM COVID-19 Special Interest Group (COVID-19 SIG). They are intended to provide high level guidance for healthcare professionals. ANZSPM is grateful for the immense effort over a short period by all the volunteer members of the COVID-19 SIG.
These documents are subject to change and will be reviewed regularly as the situation evolves.
This work is part of ANZSPM's contribution to the Australian COVID-19 Palliative Care Working Group (ACPCWG), a collaboration of Australia's peak palliative care bodies - Palliative Care Australia, Palliative Care Nurses Australia, ANZSPM, the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, End of Life Directions for Aged Care (ELDAC), Paediatric Palliative Care Australia and New Zealand, CareSearch and caring@home. The work has also been informed by ANZSPM's collaboration in New Zealand with Hospice New Zealand, Palliative Care Nurses New Zealand and Hospital Palliative Care New Zealand.
Further guidance documents will be added to the ANZSPM website as they are developed. Health practitioners interested in the guidance made available are encouraged to check back regularly for further updates.
