Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine

Are you interested in improving your skills in palliative medicine? The Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine offers a six month Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine consisting of a supervised clinical attachment.

The aim of the Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine is to encourage medical practitioners to spend time in palliative care as part of their vocational training and continuing professional development. The Diploma program consists of a six-month supervised clinical attachment and the guidelines are based on the RACP - AChPM Curriculum in Palliative Medicine.

Victorian Palliative Medicine Training Program (VPMTP)

The Victorian Palliative Medicine Training Program (VPMTP) provides the central access point for applicants wishing to undertake training in palliative medicine in Victoria. It provides an education program for all registrars in palliative medicine training positions within the state. A mentoring program is available for all trainees. Positions are located across metropolitan Melbourne and in several of the larger regional cities. The VPMTP is the fund holder for several fellowships that trainees nearing completion of their training may consider. Advanced trainees from other specialties such as Geriatric Medicine, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, General Medicine, and General Practice are welcome to apply for a term in palliative medicine and are encouraged to undertake the Clinical Diploma.
